Ingredients:
1/3 c shortening
1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1/2 c molasses
1/2 c water
2 c flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 t soda
1 t ginger
1/2 t nutmeg
1/2 t cloves
1/2 t cinnamon
Cooking Instructions:
Thoroughly mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses & water.  Measure flour.  Stir dry ingredients together and blend into shortening mixture.  Chill dough.  Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.  Bake on 400 degrees about 8 minutes.
