I haven't been able to get into my Ebay account for 3 days. Finally got it fixed tonight. I am wondering ..is it a coincidence that I have just started doing surveys online, and freebies etc??? I have never had a problem before. They (ebay) said my account had been comprimised by a 3rd party sending out emails supposedly by me.
Anyone have any probelms like this? Just wondering what the likely source is?
Thanks gals (& guys) |

If your account has been compromised, eBay will work with you to secure your account.
Securing Your Account and Reporting Account Theft

| Quote: | | Educate yourself on how to recognize and report spoof email and Web sites impersonating eBay. The most common way for an eBay account to be compromised is through spoof emails designed to access members' passwords and other sensitive information. Please forward any suspicious or unexpected emails claiming to be from eBay to us at the email address spoof@ebay.com. It's also a good idea to review the Spoof Tutorial and other online security information available from the eBay Security and Resolution Center. Also, consider downloading the eBay Toolbar to take advantage of the eBay Toolbar Account Guard. |
Hope this helps!

Catmom, I've had the same problem with my ebay account.
I don't think it has anything to do with online freebies/surveys, I think it's just some spammers trying to cause problems, apparently they are sending out very nasty emails using our ebay accounts. |
